703 Remote Conversion

I have a brand new 703 Remote "push to open" remote with a 10 pin harness and but my 2004 Yamaha 9.9 High Thrust is "pull to open" and has a 7 pin harness. Is there any way to make this work as i got it for a really good deal.

There is a 7 pin to 10 pin adapter harness, it's part number 703-8258A-00-00.
