  • 88 yamaha 130hp fouls plugs at idle speed!! HELP!

I have a 130hp yamaha. It ran great for a while. Now, It blows oily smoke and fouls the plugs at idle speed. I can drive it at idle but it will stall and it seems like not all the cylinders are firing. I checked the plugs and they are fouled with carbon. After it idled and ran crapy I can drive it around and iI can feel the cylinders trying to unclog or something. If I run it at higher speed it Sometimes is will eventually clear itself up and runs great my initial start it runs like crap. I have immediately run it at at high speed to keep it from fouling the plugs.

At idle I pulled the plugs and they were fouled. I replaced them and ran it again and the plugs fouled again. If I install plugs and run it high speed its seems ok, but at low speed it spits small amounts of oil/gas out the exhaust and smokes a lot. can anyone tell me whats going on with it??

You need to rebuild the carbs. It sounds like you have a stuck float flooding it out. After rebuilding the carbs run it off a one gallon can with a 50:1 mix. To the one gallon of mix add one 16oz can of SeaFoam (you can get it at any autoparts store) and take it out for a 15 minute cruise. Run the engine back and forth from idle to 3000rpms but never floor it. After the first 15 minutes turn it off and let it rest for 10 minutes then run it another 15 minutes. That will clean out the block and cylinders removing any built up carbon.
