Yamaha F9.9AE electrics

On the Yamaha F9.9AE what is the typical charging current back to the battery? Does the charge current increase as the engine revs increase? Do I measure the current on the red wire coming from the rectifier regulator unit?

It's 6 amp charging output at wide open throttle. Measure charging out put through battery cable.
