Greasing Impeller

Whem installing a new water pump impeller, should any grease be used?

not necessary however i DO use it to hold in the orings and slide the cover over impeller.

Most grease will attack rubber parts. I found rubber grease (silicon) at NAPA called Sylglide. It’s in a handy tube for a few bucks. It is made for lubricating rubber parts. I have been using it for years on my impellers. I apply extra on the backside of the impeller blades to help continue lubricating the impeller.

Just use dishsoap. Use it on the shaft as well and it will be gone after first trip in water.
