fuel management

I have twin 250 yamaha outboards, my fuel management gauge only reads gph w/the starboard motor running. when only the port motor running it reads 0 gph. both flow meters are new. Is this normal? any suggestions? thax..

Hope you get the anser,We have twin 150 I took the gauges out and dont know how to wire them back dont really know if it worked on one motor are not sorry I cant help. Doug

Check to see if green tach lead wire is connected to port tach. Check wire connections on port fuel flow sensor.
