Ordering parts, engine ID.

Hi, I am looking at ordering some parts for my 50hp Yamaha , before I do, I want to make sure I have the correct engine year and model. (its a long way from New Zealand to try and return parts),I was told it is a 1989. The ID plug on the engine is missing and on the mounting bracket it reads:
50DEMO
6H5 L 430321
I guess its easy enough to have parts sent to New Zealand, prices here are crazy. Cheers.

I don't have any information on that model number, there was a model 50ELF sold here in USA in 1989 but not sure if same as yours.

Thanks for the reply, I stripped the engine down and found one of the crank journals worn, plus one piston damaged. I have to locate a second hand crank because a new one here is $1950.00 NZ ($1485.00 US). I will have to see if it is worth repairing so maybe some time before I am back on the water. Cheers
