60 HP Yahama runs hot in water only

60 HP Yahama runs hot after only 5 Min. in water but no problem 10 or more minutes on flush kit? Replaced thermosat & cleand water jacket. What is most next likely? Pump just not pumping quite enough and or thermo sensor? Pump really seems to be Ok though.

Probably needs water pump. The water pump is always the best place to start on an overheat problem.

When the motor is in the water it pumps some but when you put it on a hose then the hose if forcing water in there. Giving it more pressure and pumping more water. I'd replace the pump myself.
