  • Yamaha Digital Tach Wiring

I have a 90 horse 4 stoke model F90TLR and am trying to install a digital tach 6Y5-8350T-82-BK. There are four wires from the remote ignition swith that are Black (male), Green, Red, Yellow (all female) called out on the installation print for this task. On the tach there are four wires that are Black, Blue, Yellow, and Green (all male)
Is this the way to wire it?

Just match colors, the red wire is not used on a tach and the blue is for backlight in gauge. Can either connect blue to yellow so the light will come on when key switch is on or connect blue wire to light switch.

Yes connect black to black, if you have more black wires than sockets to plug into then order 6Y5-82117-00-00 multiconnector lead to connect more wires.
