Trim sensor lever stuck

Does it matter leaving it stuck in the down position? I don't need it to work but am concerned that it may be a sensor for other functions other than trim indicator such as oil pump. (1989 200)

spray the spring loaded sensor with your fav spray lube , break it loose and keep it greased up.

No, this one is actually stuck and snapped off. I'm just wondering if it controls any functions other than just trim angle display.

On the 1989 model is only for the trim gauge, doesn't need to be operative.
