HPDI oil system?

When installing the oil line from the external oil tank to the motor, should there be a primer bulb in the oil line? How does the motor on the external tank work? Is there a sensor on the motor oil tank that triggers the motor to pump when the oil gets below a certain point?

No there is no primer bulb in oil line. The ECU controls oil transfer from boat tank by way of oil level sensor signals.
