On a 1998 60 HP Yahama -Mod C60TLRW, the overheat warning device activates even though the water pump is working fine, pumping plenty of water. Is there a sensor that could be bad? or what else to look for?

The water pump may not be pumping enough water to keep cool. We always start with a new water pump and thermostat when dealing with a overheat problem.
