I have a 2003, Yamaha 150 regular old carborated 2 stroke, 650 hours on the engine it has never even hicupped before this. It was winterized last year tanks were left full, gas was stabilized, new plugs and filter. I live in a NE state where ethanol is used.
When I start my engine it runs below the normal RPM's when it is cold. If I put it in neutral and rev the RPM's to 1800 or so after 15 seconds the engine will rev higher on its own, a lot higher. Leaving the marina in gear it did this too me yesterday and the engine was warm by then. When it idled I pumped the bulb when the engine was running at idle and it made no differance, although the bulb did not feel super hard it wasn't real soft either.
Once out there it would not start twice unless I choked it. The engine was warm at this point.
The above condition has happened the first and second time I used my boat this year. I want to get this fixed before I use it again. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks Kevin
