I have a 1987 sea nymph fishing machine 160
16' with a 70 HP
The steering went out. I think I need a new system.
Can anyone tell me which system I need.
The end of the cable goes thru a tube on the engine.
Under the dash the cable has extended past where a plastic tube is (Tube is approx. 1 foot.)when I turn the wheel to one side.
I am getting no reponse at the engine.
I am not sure how the system works, but it appears to have the problem in the cable.
I unhooked the engine from the cable and unscrewed the nuts holding the cable. The cable on the port side of the engine (tilt tube) does not seem to be connected with the other side of the cable.
