  • Yamaha 115 four stroke squeaking

I have a 115 four stroke with 80 hours on it. At low RPM (800-2000) it makes a squeaking sound similar to a belt squeaking on a car. After the motor being off for a minute or two it seems to go away. I checked the timing belt area and everything looks OK. It is only happening intermittently, maybe twice a trip. Is this a major issue or something that will pass? I can't figure out why this is happening especially from a rather new motor. Any light you can shed on this would be a big help. Thank you.

Try removing lower unit and grease upper drive shaft from about 2 inches below splines and up including splines. Also above water pump where the bushing in upper housing is.
