  • 2001 50hp 4-stroke (T50TLRZ) starting procedure??

I just bought a very nice 2001 22’ Aqua Patio Pontoon boat with a 50hp four stroke on it. The motor is in excellent shape and super clean. My question is what is the “Cold Starting” procedure for this motor? The dealer I bought it from (specializes in LARGER boats) told me that there is a choke button on the key, (which it does push in). Not having an owner’s manual what is the correct order of things for a cold start?? I have had the chance to take it out once and it seemed to take about 4 long cranks to get it started using the “choke”. Then what is the warm starting procedure, if anything?? Thanks…
I checked the Yamaha web site for a manual and they are Out of Stock. So any help would be much appreciated.

Trim motor all the way down, pump up fuel primer bulb, Start engine at idle. Do not give it any throttle while starting engine.

The 2001 50 is a Prime Start engine which is an auto choke and the push key switch choke is not connected to engine.

You should be able to download the owner's manual in PDF format from the Yamaha web site. ( but it is NOT printable )
