Lower unit 30hp Model LH

Hi guys Iam new here but have found some interesting reading and information here good job.
Does anyone have information on and specs on shiming the pinion , Fwd
and reverse gears on a 1987 Yamaha 30LH 3 cyl ?
I got bought this with a bad lower and have it just about ready to put back
together if I can just find this info out.
I have been looking @ some shim gauges on ebay but not for sure if they will
work for my motor or if I can get by without them.

You will need a service manual for shimming steps and specs, you can order manuals from www.yamaha-motor.com/

Ok I will get one but do I need the shiming tools or gauges to do this with also?

or would anyone have a pdf copy of this they could send me thanks?

Could you do me a HUGE favor and determine the diameter and number of splines on the driveshaft (where it enters the powerhead)?

I'm desparate to find this out for a project I'm working on.
