lower unit bolt stripped out

10mm bolt on my 225 hp lower unit is stripped out. should I try using a heli-coil or would you reco drilling and tapping for next larger size bolt.

heli coil is the way to go .
if you have a cobalt drill bit to drill the broken studd, it will be easier

thank for the info, but what about the flange on top? on some assembly you can not have this flange hanging out.is the taping tool making a groove for this flange?
i have been using these without knowing the name, but only for spark plugs and i have seen some coming off with the plugs sometimes on automobiles.
i use heli coil when needed and never had any problem with if done right .
why do you say heli coil last only 1 time?
