changing controls type

hi everyone

I own a yamaha 25 hp outboard engine (1996) with a steering handle control type and i'd like to control it from a remote (basic operations: forward/neutral/reward and gas control...no trim etc)...i already have a remote from my older motor (25 hp johnson seahorse) so my question is simple....Is that operation possible and if yes which kit or cables do i need to use ?

The Johnson controls wont work on the Yamaha. You would need.
703-48230-15-10 Side mount Control box
689-48501-40-EJ Remote attachment kit, if your motor is a C25 model
6L2-48501-11-00 Remote attachment kit, if your motor is a 25 oil injected model.
Also need 2 control cables. MAR-CABLE-xx-SC(replace "xx" with length cable needed).
