Problem w/200 4 stroke

2005 4 stroke, had a problem with water in my gas tank, all that was fixed, now after slow *****ing for awhile the motor seems to spit and sputter when I try to give it gas to leave. If I cut the motor off for 10 seconds and restart it runs fine and I ran 40+ miles back in. It has done this on numerous occasions and every time, I cut the motor for 10 sec its fine. Any ideas?

It's hard to say, but if the problem started after the water in fuel problem, then you might remove the fuel vapor tank and clean tank and fuel filter.
