Trying to build some background for warranty discussion with Yamaha - expired on 4/2007.
Had a warranty repair earlier this year in March before warranty ran out - bad fuel pump was pumping fuel into crankcase - which of course raised the oil level to the point it was running out of dipstick hole - was told my biggest concern was the excess pressure in crankcase due to extra fuel so needed to fix ASAP. Had the warranty repair done in March 2006.
Just had local marina take a look at it here in November because low oil pressure indicator came on but oil level was fine on dipstick. Diagnosis - blown head gasket. Of course, warranty expired in April but wondering if the first problem of fuel pump pushing fuel into crankcase could have had impact on head gasket due to increased pressure.
Any insight is appreciated. Thx
