I just bought this motor and it threw a hot alarm after running at about 5000 for just about a half an hour. I came down off of plane and fished for awhile and drove home at 4000 with no alarm. Motor has about 220 hours and has original water pump so I bought a new pump kit and installed it. Then I though I would check the thermostat and it was pretty corroded. There were hunks of corrosion in the thermostat housing. My question (finally) is, is there any way to clean the water passage through the cylinder head without pulling it off? Or what should be my next move?
