1989 excel 225hp problems please HELP!!!

Hi there i have a 1989 v6 excel-225hp 2 stroke 2.6ltr precision blend micro computer ignition system.
Now my problems are that its idling a lil rough and will only idle for 10 mins or so before it will stall i do no that the carbs were rebuilt not that long ago before i purchased the motor and carbs are clean and motor has new spark plugs in it.


2nd problem is you give accleration and it boggs down and dies and theres not there i cant even get it out of the hole to plane

That is signs of dirty carbs, It doesn't take much to block low speed jets and passages.

Yup. Time to tear them down. Very small circuits. Idle, Midrange and High Speed. Seems like all are clogged on yours.

Get a hold of the Yamaha Water Seperator Fuel Filter. Manufactured by Racor, but seems to be a larger filter, 10 Microns and works very well.

Are you using Ethanol Fuel?
