I have a 2001 F115 with an oil alarm sounding intermittenly. It sounds at or near idle and sometimes doesn't do it at all. Yesterday we ran it with an oil pressure gauge hooked up(boat in the water) and found that the motors oil pressure is dropping to 0. Turn the motor off and on again, it goes right back to 60, it may stay there or it will drop again. If I gave it a little gas when the pressure dropped the pressure would come back up. Whats puzzling is that it doesn't always do it and when it does, it's only when the motor is idling(in or out of gear). No problems on plane. The times the motor was running with the alarm sounding or the oil pressure gauge at 0, it sounds fine. The oil alarm sounding has been happening intermittenly since June and this was the first time we have been able to catch it while it was actually doing it. If it were the oil pump wouldn't it do it all the time? Any ideas?
