My dealer said the same. I have not had any problems, but will probably run a low concentration of Stabil all the time, and RingFree occasionally.
RingFree is Yamaha's own fuel additive - supposed to help with carbon build up. It is available at any Yamaha dealer. In my part of the world it's available at most gas docks too - Yamahas are very popular in Maine.
Ring Free is a fuel additive from Yamaha. I use it in my 2003-250 HPDI. The factory told me to use it because the engines tend to run hot and this will help to condition the rings and cylinders. There is a shock treatment, then it is 1oz per 10 gal fuel after that.
