tiller to controls 1987 30SH - attachment

ok, I found 6J8-48501-02-EK "ATTACHMENT ASSY" - is item #17 going to replace the rectangular cover starbord side and allow me to attach 8' cables and a 703 control? It doesn't look convincing in the pics that it's going to convert the throtle and especially shifting...but I guess the image is kind of reverse from how I'm looking at the motor........duh, I just noticed the FWD in the image...


That steering attachment....do I need that? off to look at how my steer cable ends and what's on my motor.....

second question... will a 701 "pull to open" control work with this motor? I plan on connecting NO electrical to the helm except the kill lanyard switch.
