  • 1997 Multifunction fuel gauge problem

My multifunction gauge always reads full.

I have twin 1997 225 SWSII EFI engines. the two tanks/sending units are wired to a switch(port/starboard) which wires into the single multifunction guage.

can both sending units be bad?
when i disconnect the pink wire to the gauge, it goes to empty.

Need to take pink wire loose at fuel sender. With wire loose gauge should read empty, by touching pink wire to the ground wire gauge should read full. This tells you gauge and wiring is ok, fuel sender probably bad.

      fixed

      Problem solved.
Turned out both sending unit were bad. The floats on both ISSPRO sending units were stuck up at the top.
I replaced them with WEMA sending units.
