trouble / please help

I was running my boat today,it ran fine for 45 minutes.I slowed down for idle zone.When i tried to plane boat off,the alarm came on and boat would not get on plane.Boat idles fine,but starts shimmering when giving gas.My old boat
did this and it was the power pack.What do you think?And if this is the problem how difficult to change.

what motor/year

probably an overheat or low oil.

motor is 2001 115h/p .Motor ran perfect until i slowed to idle.Oil level is fine.

and have you tried it since ??

have you changed the waterpump in the last year ?

was the telltale/pisser working?

pisser was working great / it does have yamaha gauges

water pump has not been repalced

i did notice the oil reservoir on the motor was only 1/2 full

If the oil level on engine oil tank gets down to the lower line or if the engine overheats it will signal a warning buzzer, activate a warning light on Yamaha digital gauge and reduce engine to about 2000 rpm's. If you have Yamaha gauges look to see what which warning indicator is on.
