fuel gauge

Need help; I've installed new sending unit in gas tank and need help wiring new fuel gauge. I have the "S" terminals wired together from sending unit and gauge and "I" wired to boats ground but getting nothing from gauge. Where does the power source come from?

The "I" is the ignition terminal, you need to connect key on power(12 volts with ign. key on) to the "I" terminal. The "S" terminal is for the sender and there should be a "G" terminal for ground wire.
