I bought a boat with a 1998 150 VMAX a couple of months ago. The seal around the tilt piston appears to be leaking. When I went to the local dealer, the guy in the parts department told me to just put in power steering fluid. I later bought a repair manual and joined this forum where I discovered from prior postings that I should have used dexron automatic transmission fluid or obviously the Yamaha brandhydralic fluid. I was just wondering if this would hurt the unit and if so how can I drain the unit? I have looked all over the assembly and can't find any way to drain the fluid. Also, how difficult is it to change the seals aound the tilt piston as it is still leaking?
