  • Yamaha Digital Gas Gauge Not Working

I bought an 2000 Action Craft with a 2001 Yahama 115 a while back. The digital gas gauge has never worked, according to the seller. I check the sending unit with my volt meter and it reads 78 ohms. When I check the voltage coming from the console, I get a reading of 0.05 volts (pink wire and ground wire). When I get a reading between the pink wire and directly to the fuel tank I get 4.14 volts. Also, when I connect the ground wire coming from the console to the pink wire from the console, I still only get the flashing icon at the console.

    Any suggestions?

You need to ground fuel sender lead at gauge and gauge should read full( it takes a few seconds to go to full, you can turn key then back on to make it go faster). If gauge doesn't read full then gauge is bad.

      Got It

The ground wire was bad, shorted, broken, whatever. Replaced and the gauge now works great. Thanks for the help.
