  • F 115 not developing full power

Since I launched this year my 2001 f 115 often will start to bog down around 4000 rpm and then refuse to devlope full power, not exceeing 4300 RPM. Here is the weird part: If I shut the engine off, then turn it back on, it will run fine for a while, developing top RPMs without a problem. Also, this issue comes and goes, sometimes it does not appear all day while other times it can happen several times a day. I have already done fuel filter changes and put in the proper additives and have gone through about a tank of gas. appreciate any advice.

Bob, look for a restriction in fuel line, possibley at the pick-up end in the tank. If you have it, use a 6 gal, tank, new gas, hose primer bulb, see if problem goes away. If it does, ceck the boat's fuel lines and tank pick-up

If what Dennis suggested doesn't help then it may have debri in fuel vapor separator tank plugging up filter on fuel pump. It would lose fuel pressure and injectors would be lean.

        Hi

Thanks. I should have mentioned that fuel lines were checked, and the primer bulb stays firm. I have also replaced the filter on the engine, as well as completley replacing the external filter. My boat has a 88 gal. fixed tank. Where is the fuel vapor seperator tank located?

        Thanks
