Control Cable/ Throttle Cables

I need to replace the control cables to my 2003 200hp 4-stroke outboard.My questions are,1)do I need to replace the cable with the same exact length as the old cable? There seems to be a lot of excess cable. 2) Does Yamaha make control cables to fit either 4 stroke or 2 stroke outboards? 3)Am I right to choose the ABA 25-GY or ABA 24-GY cable?

Burney, the cables only have to be long enough so that when the motor is turned all the way in either direction, they do not bind up, and keep a 2 foot radius. (no tight bends). They do not have to be any specific length. As for the model numbers that you stated, I do not know, but I am sure that boats.net can help.

All models use the same cables. The ABA cables are not available anymore just the supreme cables MAR-CABLE-xx-SC( replace xx with length cable needed). They come 1 per package.
