  • slow *****ing with big 4 stroke

i currently do a lot of *****ing in the great lakes using 4 stroke 9.9.

If i buy a new boat with twin 150 4 strokes can i slow ***** for endless hours and not sorry about the plugs loading up etc. what do you think?

    thanks tony.

They shouldn't load up like 2 stokes do. The 4 stroke should perrr for hours on end with no issues at all. I often ***** my 115 4 stroke for 8 hours at a time (great lakes also). Never even had a hicup. The only problem you might have is getting those twins to slow you down enough. I'm guess a big heavy boat but you may still need 2 *****ing bags.

        use a kicker

Yes the 4 strokes will idle for hours without missing a beat or fouling your plugs; but I question why you want to put all those hours on those expensive big engines. I do a lot of fishing and many hours of *****ing. From my own experience I get better control at slow *****ing speed by using a kicker engine, plus I am not putting all the hours on my big Yamaha outboard. I can always replace a kicker outboard at minimal cost when I wear it out. I vote for using the big engines to get me out to where I want to fish and then ***** all day on my kicker which is also a 4 stroke.

I agree with the others, I have twin f225's and ***** all day without any problems. I do sometimes shut one down, but it is not necessary. Actually, I just put it in neutral, to keep the hour s the same.
