charging system 9.9 yam. troubleshooting?

my 200 ox 66 charges about 13.3-14.2, however the 9.9 only puts out about 12.0 -12.6. anybody have directions for checking out the charging system, voltage regulator etc.

My 8 hp charges the same as your 9,9 With about 12.4 volts. Hopes this helps.
