  • Oil leak from prop

I have a 99 130 2 stroke and I put the muffs on and tried to crank the engine before I went out. While I was cranking it my friend noticed oil leaking from the exhaust from the prop. The boat would not run as well. I just had the carbs rebuilt last week but the boat has ran fine the last few times I had been out. the oil that came out looked like engine oil. any suggestions?

pull cowling and see if it was settled/puddled in the lower cowl.

I checked and no oil was settling in the lower cowl. it does not leak unless the engine is being cranked. A good bit was coming out mixed with the water.

if it is oil, could be a broken seal behind oil pump. do you still have the oil pump hooked up?

Yeah I havent disconnected the oil pump yet but it must be a bad seal.
