old T9.9 questions

Hey-

I have a sailboat with an older (early 90s?) T9.9EXHQ on it....the motor works great but I had a couple questions and since I didn't get a manual for the engine I thought I'd try here.

First, should this motor charge the battery? I know most modern electrical start outboards do, but I've always kept it on a trickle charger and I was about to go on a longer trip and I don't know how to test if the motor actually charges the battery.

Second is the oil changing procedure the same as with the newer t9.9 models? I was able to get a manual online for a newer t9.9

Yes the electric start models does charge the battery and yes the oil change is the same as newer ones.
