F115 4 STROKE RPM?

I HAVE A F115/80 JET DRIVE. YAMAHA CLAIMS THIS ENGINE HAS AN RPM RANGE OF 5000-6000. MINE TURNS 5300 TOPPED OUT. IS THERE ANY WAY TO GET IT CLOSER TO THE 6000 THEY TALK ABOUT???

You can try moving motor up on boat transom, get as high as possible without pump cavitating.

when the motor is trimed all the way down is the foot intake level or less than a inch to the bottom of the boat if its more it will drag and rpms will suffer i know this from experence
