Hi All,
I have problem with my multi function gauge on my 90HP 2 stroke (stuck on yellow) with a full oil tank. Wiring appears OK. I have had it looked by a Yamaha mechanic last season and he tells me it may be the gauge, but it will drop into rpm reduction when low oil. Brought it there with almost no oil for this reason. Not sure if I buy that explanation completely, since I did not see this happen. I have since purchased a used tank with sensor and gauge. I want to clean out the spare tank first. I cannot seem to get the senor out so I am thinking to pour a bit of kerosene into the spare tank to clean it out to insure the slide up and down. Then unplug the wires on the harness from the tank on the engine and connect the spare to see if get the same results on the gauge. Naturally I will not start the engine...
If that does nothing then replace the gauge.
Any thoughts or ideas?
Thx
Jon
