  • two easy questions?? 2001 OX 66 225s

last year did the impellers as a routine maintenance and also the thermostats-i looked at the poppet valves and cleaned out some debris in the chamber but did not replace. feeling like i should have i got new valves and when i got them i noticed they are different from the old with a rounded head-does X end (not the rounded one) insert into the spring so the water pressure pushes up on the rounded head? I think the answer is yes and i am kicking myself for now not doing this when i had it opened up as it was a pain in the ankle to get back together

Question two: performance on the engines is very good and has been at ***** sometimes one of the engines seems to idle a bit rough not very and to most its not really noticeable-i think i am just used to hearing them anyway i have been religious in using 89 octane, ring free yamalube and change the water seps and 10 microns-plugs are done frquently as well-
someone mentioned a back pressure valve/ is that the same as the VST screen and could either or both be soemthing to look at as the cause of this problem?
    any help is really appreciated..flan

The rounded end end of PCV goes towards spring, the X end goes inside rubber grommet.
