  • Gear lube leak from LU

    Engine is a 1989 Yamaha ProV 150.

Recently found LU gear lube on the ground.

Traced it up to a weep hole of sorts on the port side of the LU. I'm suspecting the gear shaft oil seal under the water pump finally let go.

    I would like to know:

    1. What parts I should order from boats.net
    2. Best way to take the old seals out - any special tools?
    3. Best way to install the new seals - any special tools?
    4. Best way to position the seal lips when installing?
    5. If this is something I can do or leave it to a pro?

Thanks for any and all help!!
