RPM's are low

Had my boat out for the first time this year. 2000 225 VMax. Stored it properly, started up without a hesitation. Problem came after I warmed it up and went WOT down the lake about 8 miles. 5500 was top rpm's. Last year it spun the wheel up to 5900 rpm's. Engine ran good, but just didn't do it's thing on top end. Thanks in advance.

it has ring free in it since it was new. Maybe it's the Sta-bilt, I always make sure it has plenty in it before sending it to bed for the winter. Thanks for your answer.

I had the same problem. Just took my 2001 150 out for the first time this year. I could only reach 4500 rpms, where it use to get 5500. Did you solve your problem?
