1990 250 lower unit

I just bought a 1990 250 with a bad lower unit. I was wanting to know if the lower units on the 200's 225's and 250's are interchangeable. and if so what years. I looked at a couple and I didnt notice any significant difference between them. any help appreciated.

i dont think any 250's will match up to the smaller v-6 motors in the earlier years as the 250's are quite larger.

225's and 250's are same size but you need to check gear ratio.

would gear ratio be a big deal? The higher the ratio the less bottom but the more top right? also I have a model number for a lower unit im looking at...V62XCELXH could anyone tell me if this will fit? Im hoping it will the price is a steal.
