2000 150 HPDI problem

hello gang, I have a 2000 150 HPDI.. that did sit for a while with an empty fuel tank..i filled with fuel and went to go out with it after about 30 minutes of running full power it presented with a stutturing and loss of power..I checked seperator no water.. took a fuel sample (clean)..
Now it runs good on the hose (idle) and such but put back in water full throttle was now instant stuttering and power loss.. any ideas what to look for ??

Start with a compression test. Have all the fuel pressure tested, The high fuel pump can only be tested with a computer diagnostic system which your dealer should be able to do for you.

Had very similar problem, I had run about 150 gals. before it surfaced on my eng. Turned out to be a dirty VST screen. Now runs as good as new. The help received here was tremendous. Not a difficult repair either.

Hello all, thanks for replys here is more to my saga.. I hooked it to hose today and only had 3 cylinders working.. 2 on one side 1 on the other,
I swapped caps on the end of wire.. no help.. I put a plug in caps to check fire ..2 of them had one on each side had no fire the others had weak fire or good fire while cranking but weak once engine was running,, any ideas very baffled
