I have a 2004 Yamaha F225TXRC outboard motor. When I first turn the ignition key after the motor has set for several days, nothing happens. After turning the key on and off several times, the motor will turn over and crank. It cranks fine the rest of the day. Batteries and connections are good. Could it be the ignition switch or motor starter relay?

How old is the boat and rigging. -
i would clean every connection first, even fuses

do you have a main battery switch?
if yes, try to go "on" "off" "on" "off" several times and retry again.
i had the problem several times, the switch corrode inside and bad contact happend .
