2000 yamaha 150hp spitting oil/gas out of exhaust

My 2000 150hp is spitting oil/gas mixture from the exhaust at startup...smokes too...but then it settles down (although the problem doesn't entirely go away) as the engine warms. all in all the engine runs great. i'm about to have it winterized - any suggestions?

sounds like a hole in the fuel pump diaphram. efi or carbed??

carbed - didn't think about the diaphragm...makes sense because it still has good compression? thanks for the post.
