Yamaha F150TXRD Oil Filter

The Yamaha F150 Owner's Manual lists the Oil Filter as a dealer serviceable item and not as a do-it-yourself task. However, opening the engine up reveals the filter in plain sight and easy access.

Does anyone know of a reason why Yamaha suggests that only a dealer should change the oil filter?

No you servicing your own motor is not a problem at all.

Thanks for reply. I do try to get most of the service items done myself (oil, gear lube, grease, etc). I am just wondering why Yamaha has marked the oil filter specifically as a dealer-only item.
