Ear Muffs

Does anyone know of a site that has a tutorial for setting up "ear muffs" to allow for out of water running of an outboard?

And as a follow up: are there any issues using "ear muffs" on a 2005 F90?

They are easy to use just slide it on lower unit to cover water inlet screen and turn water on before starting engine. The problem with them is they will slide off while running motor. If water runs dry it could damage water pump.
