Tilt Trim leaking off

My tilt trim will leak off completly. It will go all the way down and tuck under when it sit for a day. 150 ProV 1990. What is the cure? Thanks for any info.

If you are losing that much fluid I would hope it would be easy to spot/diagnose. Is there a slick around the transom bracket ?

It's not leaking fluid.

Sorry, didn't get to finish post. Not leaking fluid. It is not holding position.

it is one of two things. the manual release valve is not seated right. raise all the way up, loosen the screw to let it drift down and retighten right before its all the way down. the other cause would be the relief valve in the front or the trim unit. for this you have to remove the motor from the boat. better left for a mechanic.

Slim, when you say "all the way down".. do you mean before it touches the two rods?

no i mean all the way down through the tilt and trim range. stop it just before it reaches its lower most point.
