I have to perform the 10 hour maintenance on my motor. Do I have to use all Yamaha oils and filter to keep it under warranty? I have seen Yamalube 4 stroke outboard engine oil. Do they have oil for the lower unit? I have looked on their website and can't find anything. I know LubriMatic has a 90w Lower Unit Synthetic Gear Lube that I could use. Should I use synthetic oil? Thanks in advance.

Hello, My motor is new this year also and I did my maintainence myself at 10 hours...Nope! you dont have to use yamaha oil...I switched right away to synthetic , I used Castrol..I also used mobil one gear lube synthetic...They tell you you dont have to change the oil filter but I did anyway...Thats all there is to it! It was easy.
My next oil and the oil I will use from here on out will be AMSOIL...The best you can get!
