  • 250 HP Compression Test

I have 1999 twin 250hp OX66 outboards- 390 hours, I did a compression test today and found one engine(other engine all in the 130-135 range) to have # 1 cylinder to be at 105# and the rest to be at 130-135 #. I did the test 3 times to be sure all the same. I put oil into the cylinder and it came up to 125. Reading the various manuals, a range of 15-30 % is OK. After > 30% is tear down time. They run fine - no issues. I think I should find out what is up. I am trying to locate a borescope to take a look. Any opinions ?

Decarbon engine and see if helps. Get a can of Cumbustion Chamber Cleaner(ACC-CMBSN-CL-NR) and follow directions on can.
